Empowering the Future: The Induction of the NGLP Cohort 2025
The Next Generation Leadership Programme (NGLP) welcomed 66 new scholars to its 2025 cohort in a special event that celebrated leadership and excellence, thanks to the support of the Porticus family and other dedicated partners who are helping shape Kenya’s future leaders.
During the two-day event, new scholars took part in an orientation aimed at preparing them for both academic and leadership success. The program started with Eucharistic celebrations, helping everyone reflect and set a positive tone for what lies ahead. Scholars then joined interactive sessions about expectations, academic achievement, and making the most of opportunities.
The orientation introduced the group to NGLP’s history and mission, as well as available scholarships and the value of being responsible both academically and financially. Team building and networking activities helped the scholars form connections that will support them during their studies and in the future.
In keeping with NGLP’s family spirit, alumni joined the celebration, bringing together different generations and highlighting the program’s sense of continuity. These interactions showed how mentorship is passed on, as current scholars learn from graduates who once stood in their shoes and will one day become mentors themselves.
As these 66 scholars begin their studies at universities across Kenya, they take with them not only financial support but also a tradition of leadership, service, and dedication to excellence. The NGLP 2025 cohort is prepared to make a difference in their communities and beyond, continuing the effort to invest in Kenya’s future, one scholar at a time.
This induction symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter for these bright minds, each prepared to contribute positively and lead with purpose for years to come.
