The Catholic Scholarship Programme in Tanzania started as the Catholic Scholarship Programme for East Africa with its headquaters in Naiorobi-Kenya.

The first cohort of 14 scholars in the year 2011. The main objective has been to develop future leaders within the church and society by providing post-secondary academic scholarship and leadership courses. The beneficiaries of the schoalrship programme are religious and lay people from congregations and dioceses.
